At Area Diesel Service, Inc. we have been blessed with many successful business
relationships throughout the 36 years we have been doing business.
We are pleased to use this online store as our newest outreach to new and returning consumers.
We would like to outstretch a huge thank you to our returning consumers, and to those of you
discovering Area Diesel Service, Inc. for the first time, please read about our history below.
 In
the early 1970's, Val Leefers was a partner in a shop in central
Illinois, learning fuel injection and enjoying working on pumps. As the
clientele grew, an opportunity presented itself. Val's partner bought
him out, and Val built a small building outside of Carlinville,
Illinois, acquired $1300 of inventory, and hung out his shingle. Area
Diesel Service was born in 1973.
Things started slow. "We
almost starved to death that first year; I think we made about a
hundred bucks a month," Val said. Val loved what he was doing, though,
and so he persisted. Long hours, working on the weekends, and doing
whatever was needed to make the customer happy slowly started paying
off. Val was able to hire more people, diversify into turbochargers,
and build both his inventory and his reputation for running a quality
shop that produced quality work.

 As
Area Diesel Service grew, so did the building. The location in
Carlinville has been expanded four times over the years to make room
for a pump department, turbo department, warehouse, and
state-of-the-art machine shop.

 In
1984, Area Diesel Service opened a second location outside of Des
Moines, Iowa, to better serve our clients west of the Mississippi
River. Today, Area Diesel Service has over 35 full-time employees and
factory-trained technicians. Through the core values Val Leefers
started with -- hard work, dedication to producing a quality product,
ongoing development of technical skills and going the extra distance to
ensure customer satisfaction -- Area Diesel Service has established
itself as one of the top diesel fuel system experts in the Midwest. Let
